Professional background
I am Head of Studies (Humanitarian Affairs) at Save the Children. Prior to joining the organisation, in 2012, I worked for a number of years as a researcher on the politics of conflict and development with think tanks, academic institutions, NGOs, and the UN.
Previous education
BA Hons in Classics - University of Bristol
MPhil in International Relations - University of Cambridge
PGDip in Economics - Birkbeck College, University of London
Why I am doing a PhD at HCRI
I have worked in collaboration with HCRI on numerous projects since 2014, and I see it as the UK's leading centre for the study of humanitarianism. I have great respect for HCRI's academics and for their critical engagement with the world of humanitarian practice. And, in Bertrand Taithe, I have a supervisor with expertise on humanitarian histories and their relevance to humanitarian practice today.
