Thesis title

The Final Report: How ideology disciplines the possible in narratives on aid.

Research

My research project seeks to investigate if and how ideology disciplines what aid agencies say in narrative reports on aid projects to their donors. I aim to investigate how ideology may shape the content and scope of official reports on aid projects in ways that are perhaps beyond the conscious editorial choices of narrative report authors.

Interests

Discourse/culture/ideology nexus; aid worker culture – behaviour, motivations and narratives of aid work; humanitarian principles and practice; safety and security.

Background

Formerly worked in grant acquisition, management and reporting for a large INGO.
