Three years ago, I was struggling to find a university course that I actually wanted to study. I could have chosen geography or International politics but none of these incorporated much to do with humanitarian aid and the practical work involved in this.

As someone who has always enjoyed helping others, I knew I wanted to do that in the future, as a career but no course seemed relevant to that.

After attending an evening lecture on humanitarianism at the University, I was set on studying IDMHR. Since then, I have enjoyed learning about humanitarian work in the past, present and future and all sorts of different aspects I never would have imagined - on this course, you really do learn a new thing every day!
